The facial liposculpture technique, also known as facial lipofilling or facial fat grafting, uses fat taken from the patient’s own body to fill anatomical areas where the passage of time has caused tissue atrophy. The fat is obtained using liposuction, so the aesthetic benefits of fat grafting are combined with an improvement in the areas where the liposuction is performed. Once the fat has been extracted, it is processed and purified in the operating room itself before being reintroduced into the areas that need added volume.

Various scientific studies have observed that fat obtained through lipoaspiration is rich in mesenchymal stem cells, which, among many other beneficial effects, produces skin rejuvenation and an improvement in the characteristics of the skin (elasticity, radiance, smoothness) in the areas where it is administered.
