Removal of Skin Lesions
Specialists in the removal of skin lesions (moles,
warts, tumors...) in Valencia and Albacete
General Overview
There are various types of skin lesions, such as moles (melanocytic nevi), warts, cysts, lipomas and other benign lesions which, although they are not dangerous to health, can cause discomfort or self-consciousness in the people who have them. There are also other types of skin lesion with malignant features that can potentially endanger a person’s life, as well as causing an aesthetic problem, such as atypical nevi, melanomas, squamous cell carcinomas, basal cell carcinomas, and so on.
All these lesions can be treated by excision and closure with sutures, although, depending on the size of the lesion, local grafts or “flaps” may be needed. In any case, the removal of skin lesions is medically indicated only for those with malignant features. Removal of benign lesions would be recommended in patients in whom those lesions cause discomfort or significant aesthetic problems.

When removing a skin lesion there are many technical variations and materials that can help achieve the best possible healing for each person. At our clinic we use suturing techniques designed to minimize skin tension, with fine threads that we remove early to improve the quality of the resulting scars.
